About Harvest Moon Guitars
I am an amature luthier making guitars and ukuleles out of love for the instruments and enjoyment of the process of building them. I am a retired electrical engineer and software architect.
I started making guitars as a deep hobby toward the end of my career at Microsoft. Building instruments helps satify my love for engineering and the enjoyment I have building things.
Currently my work is heavily influenced by the work of Trevor Gore an Australian Luthier and co author of the 2 volume design and build books
Contemporary Acoustic Design and Build I highly recomend both books if one is interested in the design and construction
of guitars. The build blogs on this site have many examples of the application of the processes laid out in the referened books.
Contained in this website are detailed logs of nearly every instrument I have built. Most of these blogs first appeared in various luthier forums, including one I own an administer:
Acoustic Guitar Construction. The forum was started by Kenneth Cierpilowski who passed away. Creating these build blogs are part
of the hobby for me. I actually go back to them when I have a question.
Also Join the Seattle Luthier Group Facebook page if you are local in the area or really just interested.
I do sell guitars and have sold many of the guitars seen on this site. Either built as a commission or sold after I have completed the instrument. I will accept commissions, but to keep the hobby stress free, I take no deposit and do not promise a delivery date. I love working with people to customize an instrument, but will only build instruments that are also of interest for me.
I hope you enjoy the site!
